From coop to freezer, this course offers everything you need to know to humanely butcher and process broiler chickens. This is an in person, hands-on learning experience that will boost your confidence and start you off on the right foot to providing your own sustainable meat source. Students will get to participate in each step of the process from slaughter to butchering different cuts of meat from their chicken carcass. We will detail how to safely prepare the meat for the freezer and each student will get to take home one of the birds processed in the class.
