    The Speckled Sussex is a dual purpose heritage breed that was developed in England and is known for their unique and beautiful feather pattern.
     
    These are quiet, friendly birds that make wonderful pets as well as backyard egg layers.  Hens lay on average about 260 light brown eggs per year making them average egg layers, but they are very likely to go broody and make excellent mothers.
     
    Speckled Sussex are both heat and cold tolerant and do equally well in a free range or confined setting making them a beginner friendly breed. 
     
    Roosters average 9lbs and hens about 7lbs at maturity.

      We currently do not ship chicks at this time.  All purchases of live animals are farm pick-up only, or delivery may be arranged at buyer's expense.  Shortly after placing your order, we will contact you via email to coordinate a pick-up time or delivery time.

      All live animals are guaranteed to be healthy at the time of sale.  Due to the fragile nature of poultry, all available quantities listed are estimates only.  Should you place an order that we cannot fill due to a qty error, we will either substitute the shortage with a similar breed or refund the purchase.
